Lin San Temple (灵山寺) is one of the few genuinely freehold Buddhist columbariums in Singapore, and its story goes back long before the modern building families visit today. The temple was founded by the Hakka monk Venerable Ruixiang, who travelled to Singapore from Guangdong, China, and it has served the local Buddhist community ever since. Many years on, the original building was found to be unsafe, and the temple made the big decision to rebuild rather than patch things up.
